Toyota is adding more engines to its lineup for 2017, which include a turbocharged, low-volume 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine and an electric hybrid system.
The automaker will start shipping new Toyota Corolla sedans and Lexus ES 500s with the turbocharged engine later this year, while it will start selling a version of the hybrid system in the 2019 Corolla.
The company says the engines will power the Lexus RX 500 and Lexum RX 500L and a range of other models.
Toyota is also adding the engine for the 2018 Toyota Avalon.
A turbocharged 2.3-liter V6 engine will be used in the 2017 Toyota Corollas, and the engine is expected to be available for the 2019 model year.
A turbocharged 4.5-liter inline-four engine is being developed for the Avalon, and a 4.3 liter V6 in the Lexuses will also be available in 2018.
Toyota also plans to start selling the Toyota Avalon Hybrid system, which will be available later this spring.
The system is designed to help Toyota cars use less fuel than they normally would, but it is limited to a maximum of 15 miles on a charge.
Toyotas will also introduce a new version of its sporty, luxury crossover in 2019.
The Toyota Camry, which has been sold for decades in Japan, will be discontinued in the U.S. in 2019, but will be offered in the states in 2021.
The 2017 Toyota Camrys will get a turbocharger upgrade that adds up to 1,500 horsepower and 1,800 lb-ft of torque to its 1,100-hp, 1,400-lb-ft V6 and a 3.5 liter V8 engine.
The new Camrys also will get an electrically assisted steering system that allows drivers to steer themselves by touching their wheel.
Toyoda is also moving to offer its vehicles in the new 2020 and 2021 model years, which are expected to sell about 20,000 and 20,600 units respectively, up from around 15,000 in 2016.
The Lexus LS, which is Toyota’s flagship crossover, will get the hybrid version, and it will get both a turbocharging and electric motor for the upcoming 2018 models.
The Lexus GS will get only the electric motor, but both will be in the 2020 and 2020 model years.
The 2018 Toyota Camper will also get the electric version, with a turbo charger in the 2021 model year and a 6.2-liter turbochargers for the 2020 model.
Toyotic says it is planning to add a second hybrid system for the Lexys in the future.
The company says it will debut the system in 2020.
