A new factory is set to open in Tecumenes engine plant in Kuwait, the first of its kind in the region, according to an official.
The facility will be operated by Tecumen Engineering.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Industry and Trade said the new facility will create more than 3,000 jobs and bring about more than $2 billion in investment to the region.
The Tecumenese plant is located in the outskirts of the city of Al-Mansoura.
It was previously located in Kuwait’s capital.
The new facility is expected to open by March, according a statement from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
The UAE is among the major exporters of Kuwaiti oil.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has a long history of exporting oil and gas to Kuwait, which it is currently seeking to expand into the Gulf.
However, the UAE has struggled to secure investment and export revenues due to its low oil prices and weak economies.
