  • Reviews customer/project outline and works with the Estimators to create an equipment, labor, material and subcontractor estimate for large/multi-project proposals, to ensure estimates are in line with customer requirements and business ROI
  • Oversees the coordination of the bidding process through the various Project Management teams and business units who are contributing to a particular large or multi-project process to ensure that all aspects of projects are addressed and accurate
  • Manages the creation of accurate, organized estimate proposals that includes Stipulated Price, Design-Build and Construction/Project Management for thoroughness and accuracy as it relates to the cost and delivery
  • Reviews proposals with potential Customers to discuss options for proposed services and ensure full project objectives are met. Prepares and sends final proposal to client for approval
  • Provides project proposal, process details, subcontractor information, etc. to the Project Management team for complete understanding and effective execution
  • Oversees and manages the creation of accurate budgets from conceptual and schematic design phases through to final estimates for consistent adherence to the organization’s goals and strategies
  • Manages and mentors the team on any obstacles, option changes, and concerns of the Site Management team and the project management team, providing them with pertinent documentation and updates as applicable, for continued project success
  • Oversees and manages ongoing project and cost changes, unit pricing and job tracking (including database maintenance) to ensure projects stay in line with the current or updated proposal
  • Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with subcontractors, internal teams and field personnel, along with customers for current and future project success
  • Reviews and develops standardized processes for the estimating areas within the various business unites to ensure best-practice and effective project results

 

Education, Skills, Experience Needed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field; will consider equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in electrical construction
  • 15+ years of Electrical Estimating and Project Management experience within an industrial electrical contractor organization
  • Strong ability in data/cost analysis, interpretation, formulation, and development of estimated quotes or proposals; ability to read, comprehend and apply technical writing in regards to civil design, constructability, government contracts, and standard construction terminology and specifications; Can review, edit and create contracts, procedures and detailed proposals; basic math, algebra and geometry skills; excellent attention to details and follow through; strong problem-solving and logical application skills; able to anticipate and negotiate potential issues; firm understanding of Union agreements as related to job duties; solid knowledge of regional network within the applicable industrial areas; solid math, finance, and budgeting skills
  • Excellent MS Office with construction management and industry estimating software skills required; Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy Job, Primavera and MS Project experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to write clearly and concisely; strong ability to present well and professionally collaborate with a diverse assortment of individuals and groups

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Accounting processes, as it relates to general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting and other tasks, ensuring accurate and on-time processing and results
  • Manages the payroll function and related tax reporting, ensuring accuracy in processing, reporting and compliance with multi-state regulations
  • Oversees and prepares all month-end processes, to include all business unit WIPs, journal entries, accruals, depreciation, and prepaids, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Manages the monthly closing and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy of data and alignment to the financial reporting schedule
  • Records and reconciles all financial transactions on a monthly basis to ensure revenue is recognized properly, and all transactions are properly and timely recorded.
  • Manages the financial analysis of the business; reports on budget variances, provides variance analysis and suggestions to the management team to ensure budgetary goals are achieved
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to the team to continually enhance the competency of the department
  • Manages the treasury function of the business, along with all related lender reporting and covenant compliance, to ensure the business is maintaining sufficient liquidity to effectively operate
  • Manages the annual financial audit process to ensure U.S. GAAP reporting compliance, along with implementing corrective actions to eliminate or improve areas of weakness
  • Stays up to date on all compliance matters and U.S. GAAP standards to ensure best practice & compliance with procedures and internal controls within the department

Education, Skills, Experience Needed:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Financial and Accounting management and leadership, within a construction, engineering, or related industry
  • CPA Preferred
  • Excellent math and technical accounting skills required; excellent planning, prioritization, organization, and execution skills; high attention to details and ability to analyze large amounts of data; analytical and logical thinker who can problem-solve and implement solutions; excellent with time management
  • Advanced ERP system, processes, and validation skills required; experience with JD Edwards is required; Expert in Excel, with advanced knowledge in the other Microsoft Office products. Willingness to learn and utilize other software systems in this role
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills; able to present to groups and educate/train others
  • Strong customer (internal and external) focus, excellent leadership and change-management skills, with the ability to listen, motivate, and influence others to action; high integrity and compliance mindset, with the ability to handle confidential matters with discretion; flexible and adaptable to change

Work Environment & Travel

  • This position is primarily exposed to a normal office environment with moderate noise
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Limited travel may be required
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds

Education, Skills, Experience Needed:

  • Trade Education ideal. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or similar field will be considered
  • 10+ years of related superintendent experience in union mechanical construction specializing in Central Utility Plants / Chillers / Boiler Installation
  • Excellent MS Office, with construction management software skills; Primavera experience preferred; training will be provided on the current processes and software used
  • Solid ability in researching, analysis, planning, project management, and processes; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task with strong attention to details and excellent follow through to ensure successful projects every time. Strong budgeting, decision-making skills. Ability to read drawings and perform construction take-offs; proficiency in change order pricing; solid knowledge of estimating, construction, design, finance, and project management; ability to be prepared for any event that could potentially knock the project off course

Strong decision-making skills. Ability to read drawings and perform construction take-offs; proficiency in change order pricing; solid knowledge of estimating, construction, design, finance and project management; ability to be prepared for any event that could potentially knock the project off course
  • Excellent MS Office, with construction management software skills; Primavera experience preferred; training will be provided on the current processes and software used
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills; able to present well, mentor others, and collaborate with clients in a professional way
